St. Augustine Catholic Church is dedicated to the safety and protection of all children and youth.
The Archdiocese of New Orleans has zero tolerance for abuse. God has chosen you to protect his children. If you have cause to believe a minor has been abused, contact the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (1-855-452-5437) or local law enforcement.

HURRICANE IDA RESTORATION UPDATE
After lengthy hurricane-related repairs, we are delighted to have returned to the Sanctuary for Sunday Mass at 10 am.
On Wednesdays we pray the Rosary at 4:30 pm, and Mass follows at 5 pm.We look forward to a formal celebration of homecoming with the community later this Fall - details to come!

grant received!We are proud to announce that St. Augustine Catholic Church has received $200,000 in funding from the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund, a program from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
This funding will support the masonry and plaster repair and restoration of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Since 2017, the Action Fund has raised more than $91 million in philanthropic funding, and serves as the largest U.S. resource dedicated to the preservation of African American historic places.

Dear St. Augustine Members and Friends:
18th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke tells the parable of the rich fool. A man with a bountiful harvest decides to build bigger barns to store his wealth, focusing solely on accumulating more for himself. God confronts him, calling him a fool because he dies that night, leaving all his accumulated wealth behind. This parable highlights the folly of earthly riches and the importance of being “rich toward God”. It emphasizes that true life is not found in material possessions but in a relationship with God and generosity toward others. In essence, the passage encourages a shift in perspective, urging believers to prioritize spiritual and eternal values over material wealth and worldly concerns. It calls for a life of faith, courage, and generosity, grounded in the fear and love of God.
